Parents of victims of New Year's Eve fire in Crans-Montana are demanding truth after reports of alleged negligence

If the Municipality had really been informed of the risk that that sound-absorbing foam could catch fire, then I believe it is necessary to shed full light on what happened and, above all, understand why that danger was not faced and averted": this is what Andrea Costanzo, father of the sixteen-year-old victim of the fire on New Year's Eve in Crans Montana.

"Chiara and the other victims - he adds - cannot be brought back. But we family members need to know the truth. If someone knew that there was a risk, we want to understand what was done, what was not done and why".

"I don't want to replace the judiciary and it's not up to me to establish responsibilities. But I can say one thing: when a tragedy takes lives, including that of my daughter, any information that could have contributed to avoiding it takes on enormous weight - underlines Chiara's father -. I hope that the investigation can get to the bottom, with clarity and without leaving gray areas. We owe it to Chiara, to all the victims and their families".

Even for Valentino Giola, Giuseppe's father, one of the survivors of the fire, this "is yet another piece of news that leaves me quite perplexed and which corroborates the Prosecutor's hypothesis: from the beginning it seemed clear that there had been negligence. This news too only confirms it".

In any case, this news "doesn't affect me that much.

In order to survive and have mental balance - he comments - I try to abstract myself from the daily content of the investigations, otherwise it becomes a constant mess. I try to follow everything carefully, but also with a certain detachment. All in all I'm lucky, since I still have my son."
