The head of state arrived on Wednesday for the first plenary meeting of the State Duma of the ninth convocation. Addressing the deputies, he noted that voters entrusted them to work and represent their interests in the Duma of the new convocation.

“Its first meeting is taking place on a special day. Exactly four years ago, the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions became full-fledged subjects of the Russian Federation. They returned to the greater Russia,” Putin said.

Parliamentarians greeted the president's words with applause.
