New suspect for the murder of Denis Bergamini: he is the cousin of the ex-girlfriend

The Carabinieri of the Cosenza Provincial Command have notified the notice of conclusion of preliminary investigations issued by the Castrovillari Prosecutor's Office against a 65-year-old under investigation for complicity in murder at the end of the investigations by the Carabinieri of the Cosenza Investigation Unit. Currently on trial for the Bergamini murder is his ex-girlfriend Isabella Internò, sentenced to 16 years in the first degree. The appeal ruling is expected on November 17. The new suspect is Isabella's cousin, Roberto Internò: according to the prosecution (represented by the prosecutor of the Castrovillari prosecutor's office Luca Primicerio), the man - investigated in conjunction with Isabella's late father - would have played a role in the death of the Argenta footballer. According to the investigators, the victim was drugged and then killed "by mechanically asphyxiating him using a 'soft' instrument and placing him, already a corpse or in limine vitae, with the aim of being hit by passing vehicles, on the Ss 106 road, towards Taranto, at approximately Km 401, in the municipality of Roseto Capo Spulico". Precisely at that point, Denis was hit by a truck driven by Raffaele Pisano (who ended up on trial in a separate trial) and that impact caused him "explosion injuries caused by abdominal-perineal crushing, with consequent evisceration of the organs and rupture of a large arterial vessel on the left". Isabella Internò and her cousin are accused of having acted "with the aggravating circumstances of premeditation, as well as abject and futile motives, consisting of the reasons of possession and jealousy nourished by Isabella towards Donato Bergamini and in her determination not to accept the young man's choice to end the romantic relationship, known and shared by the suspect".
