Saudi Arabia announced that the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ballistic missiles launched by the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen to the capital Riyadh and the Khamis Mushait region in the southwest were destroyed by air defense systems.

Brigadier General Turki al-Maliki, Spokesperson of the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia, made a statement on the social media platform of the US-based company X.

Stating that the Houthis tried to target the Riyadh region with 2 UAVs, Maliki stated that the UAVs in question were blocked and destroyed by air defense systems.

Sharing that the Khamis Mushayt region in the southwest of the country was also targeted with 2 ballistic missiles and that these missiles were blocked by air defense systems, Maliki stated that they are following up against missile and UAV threats against Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, in the statements made by the General Directorate of Civil Defense of Saudi Arabia, it issued a warning message against potential dangers in the Abha and Khamis Mushayt regions, following Cazan in the south of the country.

In the statements, it was emphasized the importance of citizens in the region to comply with emergency protocols and carefully follow the instructions and warnings of the competent authorities in order to protect the safety of life and property.
