Crowds of fans welcomed the European volleyball champions at the Chopin Airport in Warsaw.

The Polish team defeated France 3-1 in the final yesterday. This is the third gold medal of the European Championships for the White and Reds - they previously won in 2009 and 2023. They also won the Nations League this season.

There was real euphoria at the Warsaw airport. "Thank you, thank you," the fans shouted.

On their way to the gold medal, the Poles suffered their only defeat at the end of the group stage - against Bulgaria 2:3, but they were already sure of advancing from first place. In the knockout stage, they lost only one set - in the final.

Victory in Milan also means qualification for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
