Video shows moment in which firefighter and medical student are surrendered before being killed in Duque de Caxias

Security images record the moment a firefighter and a medical student were captured before being murdered in Duque de Caxias.

The crime occurred between Wednesday night (23) and Thursday morning (24). The victims were taken to a wooded area.

Family members reported that the victims realized they were being followed before they arrived home. They tried to lose criminals roaming the streets.

The Homicide Department is investigating the case. The firefighter's body was buried this Friday (25) and the student's body will be taken to Espírito Santo.

A security camera video shows the moment when Fire Department soldier Pedro Ernesto dos Anjos, aged 24, and his boyfriend Pedro Henrique Araújo, aged 26, a medical student, were surrendered before being killed in Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense.

The crime took place between the end of Wednesday night (23) and the early hours of Thursday (24) in the Pantanal neighborhood, in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense.

The camera shows that the vehicle they were in stops for a while and, apparently, one of the victims is transferred to the car where the criminals were.

The victims were then taken to a forested area, close to the communities of Sossego and Cacareco, where the bodies were found.

According to the first information, soldier Pedro Ernesto dos Anjos Rodrigues, aged 24, who was assigned to the General Personnel Department, was returning from his mother's house accompanied by his companion, identified as Pedro Henrique Araújo, aged 26.

According to family members, before entering the residence where they had lived for around five months, in the São Bento neighborhood, they had realized that they were being followed and began to circulate the surrounding streets in an attempt to lose the criminals.

"He (Pedro Henrique) called my sister-in-law and said: 'We are being followed, we are being followed'. They were very scared and then the call dropped," a family member told g1.

The deaths are being investigated by the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station, which collected projectile capsules at the scene of the crime. Other steps are being taken. The police told g1 that they still do not have a defined line of investigation.

Pedro Ernesto's body was buried this Friday afternoon (25) in a cemetery in Cordovil, in the North Zone of Rio. Pedro Araújo's body will be sent to Espírito Santo, where his family lives.
