Russian fish exports could reach $6.5 billion in 2026

By the end of 2026, Russian fish exports could amount to approximately $6.4-6.5 billion. This was stated by the head of the All-Russian Association of Fisheries Enterprises, Entrepreneurs and Exporters (VARPE), German Zverev. He was quoted by Vedomosti.

In 2025 it was about 6.1 billion. As Zverev noted, the main (80 percent) buyers of Russian fish products are China, Japan, South Korea and the European Union. In the first six months, more than a million tons, worth $3.72 billion, went to these markets. In monetary terms, the growth was estimated at 33 percent. In physical terms, 10 percent. According to the head of VARPE, in terms of revenue we are talking about the highest figure in the last five years.

He clarified that Japan buys approximately $800 million annually and remains one of the largest markets. The main items are crab, salmon, surimi.
