The Nikulinsky court sentenced businessman Fomin to 7 years for fraud during the construction of the metro

In Moscow, the Nikulinsky court sentenced businessman, head of Tristan Firm LLC, Mikhail Fomin, in absentia to seven years in prison for fraud during the construction of the Solntsevo metro station. Kommersant reports this.

Fomin was found guilty under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Especially large-scale fraud”) and Article 196 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional bankruptcy”). In addition, he received a fine of 850 thousand rubles. Now Fomin is abroad.

According to the prosecution, Fomin stole about 100 million rubles, which were allocated for the removal and placement of soil during the construction of the Solntsevo metro station. He also organized the deliberate bankruptcy of his company, causing damage amounting to almost 600 million rubles.

According to investigators, no later than August 2013, Fomin created an organized group to commit thefts. He entered into a contract, received a warrant for land work and provided the customer with fictitious documents to include the company in the register of soil recipients. From August 2014 to August 2015, 101 million rubles were transferred to his company’s account. The group members cashed the money they received and distributed it among themselves.
